History of the Venetucci Farm

The Venetucci Farm, preserved in perpetuity through the efforts of The Pikes Peak Community Foundation (PPCF), remains a legacy to the spirit and generosity of its founders, Nick and Bambi Venetucci. Established in 1936, the farm gained recognition for giving away literally millions of homegrown pumpkins to school-aged children throughout Colorado Springs. PPCF aspires to uphold this legacy by offering educational experiences in agriculture, including tours, service learning opportunities and classes. The farm will continue the wonderful pumpkin tradition started by Nick over 50 years ago.

Our Vision for Venetucci is:

A Farm that celebrates and documents the history of the Venetucci family.

A Farm where children and families can enjoy the historic Venetucci tradition of selecting a free pumpkin to take home.

A Farm that creates and shares high-quality educational experiences for community members, especially children, to learn first hand about farming, nutrition, cooking, and other related ideas.

A Farm where community members can learn about sustainable agriculture and become engaged in meaningful community service through volunteer service at the Farm.

A Farm that stands as an icon in advancing best practices for sustainable agriculture.

A Farm that actively grows and markets “Venetucci” brand products that can supply local stores, farmer’s markets, and restaurants.

A Farm that becomes a “meeting place” for community events
